Scholarships for Music Students

BCF has three funds that award scholarships to music students. These awards are granted to the winners of musical performance competitions judged by notable professionals in the field. BCF partners with Oregon MusicTeachers Association (OMTA) to plan and facilitate the competitions.

Lillian & Paul Petri Music Study Fund

BCF awards a scholarship from the Lillian & Paul Petri Music Study Fund every two years to a talented young musician.  Applicants must be a resident of Oregon and desire to pursue a musical career in Oregon.  The determination of whom shall be granted a scholarship from the Lillian & Paul Petri Music Study Fund is made on the basis of a musical performance competition judged by notable professionals in the field. BCF partners with Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA) to plan and facilitate the competition. The next Lillian & Paul Petri Music Study Competition will occur in 2023. Questions about the Petri Competition may be directed to Dr. Julia Hwakyu Lee.
